Title: 6-22-08 aftermath of the mounds(updated 6/29/08)
Post by: Crazymays77 on June 23, 2008, 01:13:16 AM
Well I had a good day at the mounds until I had to be jump started every 2 mins. then I think the starter went bad. Then the kicker I was towing it home with the tow bar and the rearend locked up. So I had to go home and get the trailer and load it up and go home. I will tear the rearend apart and see what happened and update you all and I will post pics if I can. I took my tracker and jumped the deep end of lake michigan. everyone said it was awesome but I didnt get pics or vid. that sucks. I even went through keago harbor.

update on the tracker. I drained the rearend and it was mostly water. I just changed that a week ago. so i have a bad seal some where. then when i did drain it the plug had a piece of a gear on it. here are a couple pics. I will have to take the third member out and see where in came from and get the rest of it out and get some seals replaced along with the gears.....

Well it looks like the pinion bearing got a little hot and burnt up and thats what locked up... here are some pics. as you can see there was some water in it. i got another rearend and took it apart and welded the spider gears up and took the old rear end out and now i have to get the rusted bolts out of the links so i can put it back together. damn rust. so i wont be playing anytime soon. plus the front pinion bearing is getting pretty bad gonna have to change that soon.
