i m looking to buy new welding gun for my home usage ... i know i have hobart handler 140 and i cant seem to get info what amps i need or whatver cuz stores want $150... ebay seem cheaper ... so anybody knows or can point me to the right directions
the ratings SHOULD be on your welder now... or in the manual somewhere... its usually marked on the back of the machine, if not it shoudl be inside
if its a ( hobart handler 140 ) that tells me its a 140 amp
hope this helps

what happens if i get higher amps , i ve seem some on ebay... will it still work or i have to have 25 to 140 amps?
i would say it don't matter the welder whats puttin out amps as long as it fits on your welder ???
like RD says, a 140 is a 140 amp welder, good all around home/farm type welder.. generally a 110v plug power source. with proper prep of your work and good techniques you can weld almost anything on your bogger.
anything larger than that and you will need 220v

As far as I know the only thing that will make a difference to you (provided it has the right hookup) will be the tip for the wire. I assume your using 23 Thousandth's wire, so as long as you can get tips for that gun in that size you should be alright. ==shrug
replacement part #?
