here hopefully sometime soon im going ot be rebuilding my 350 trans i have to replace the manual trans thats in my muddin truck. im going to be running a reverse manual valve body. some people ask me why i want to do that and the reason is my brother in law has that in his muddin/silverlake truck and i really like how i can still make the truck shift when i want it to but not have to have a clutch. anyways im wondering about shift kits for it. the guy that does all my trans for me mentioned going with a b&m and also a trans go. but with me running a reverse manual valve body will these shift kits still work? or do they make special ones for the reverse pattern? i havent ordered the valve body yet or else id just ask the techs at summit about it, but i figured id see if anyone on here knew
thanks for any help
valve bodies dictate which way the tranny shifts, shift kits reroutes the fluid through it to make a shift more snappier. so they will both work together. and a reverse valve body goes PRN12D where a normal one goes PRND21 hope this helps and if i have something wrong someone please help
Theres no need for a shift kit. The manual valve body will only shift when you tell it to. It will also raise the line pressure.
i didnt think htere was a need for a shift kit either seeing as im going to be telling the trans when to shift. i was just curious about it seeing as what my trans guy told me he was going to do, but he did get a lil puzzled look about it when i told him i was runnin a reverse manual valve body.
also i did know everything that Squirell posted about which way the reverse shift pattern is vs the regular shift pattern and also the shift kit. but i do appreciate the response tho.
i was just curious about the shift kit with a reverse manual valve body but i guess you just answer it (454 jeep)
thanks for the repsonses guys.
