my monster 5" autometer started be slow reading up to about 2300Rpm after that its fine any Ideas or just can it thanks ;D
check grounds, wire con.. ==dunno could be going bad
check connections to the dist.
more connectors = more resistance
if you are running a aftermarket ignition like mallory or msd it happens to. you might need a tach adapter. my ignition burned the shift lite out of mine cause i didnt have the adapter

not to be dumb and ask, but is it calibrated for the engine your running? [the little wires on the back]
The tach probably has an issue with the needle touching something inside causing it to drag until it gets past the sticky point.
Does this tach have "Dave Gray" engraved all over it? If it does I would sure like to meet the guy you bought it from.
Nope its not yours DAVE sorry it must just be touching alittle caus the more you run it the better it works
