my muddin truck has a 4spd manual trans with a 208 t case attached to it. does anyone know if this trans has that 10 spline output shaft on it? that parts truck i picked up awhile ago had the same 4spd manual trans with a 205 t case and that one had the 10 spline shaft. and i was just wondering if they would have done the same thing with the 208 or if it would have i think either a 27 or 31 spline (i think those were the 2 i ran across so far on a 208)
NP208's that are behind SM465 4spd's are all 32 spline....................GM did that in 1981 so that the T-case could be used with the 400 turbo trans which is also 32 spine.
Here is a picture of a 4x4 SM465 trans out of a 82 chevy that I have. Notice the longer shaft. The reason for the longer shaft is that it splines directly into the Np208.......so there is no sleeve coupler inside the adaptor like the older 1968-80 Sm465/Np205 setups. I will be doing a GM T-case and trans guide in the garage tech soon.
