Howdy everyone! Anyway, I have a 1994 Chevy truck and was wondering if there were any redneck/nigg rigged ways to add some lift to my truck. I know i could buy a body lift, and thats what i will probably end up doing, but is there any way to add some height a cheaper way? It has to be safe as well.
cheap lifts are hard to come by. torsion bar keys and small blocks will add 2"
ya...straight axle front and rear shackle flip
yeah there's not a whole lot that can be done cheap with the IFS chevy's cheap, only ad a leaf's, blocks, and torsion bar keys....all that u might get 2 or 3 front and depending on the blocks u could go 10 lol
Alright, what exactly are torsion keys? Ive heard alot about using them to get lift but have no idea what/where they are
they are the arc the gets tightened and provides "lift" they are a larger profile radius (aftermarket vs. oem) thus with a more aggressive arc u can increase the ride height. but remember that u will also lose a little ride quality and run the risk of snapping the torsion bars if u raise them too high. (larger radius on aftermarket is more aggressive thus creating more stress) to remove the keys all u have to do is back the bolt down, i think it is a 18 or 19mm. then the torsion bars are pounded out and the keys removed(don't back the bolt all the way out, there needs to be some preload) replace with the new keys and pound bars back in. then get it to an ALIGNMENT RACK!!!
