Title: regearing, help please
Post by: Dirty D on July 24, 2008, 10:25:32 PM
My truck has a dana 44 front and a 14 bolt rear both with 4:10. It has 44" tires.
Any suggestion on what gears I should run? I was thinking 5:13.  Is there any thing i should be looking out for?

513   or 538s   you mite  need a  carrier.   for the  d44 or a  thick ring gear.

5.38's for sure. I've got 6.17's and love them. Ton's of wheel speed and 1/4 throttle burnouts.

But can I get 589 for my rear.

Also, what about different brands. Is this something that I could try to go a littler cheaper on. The only thing I have ever heard about cheap gears is that they are just make a little more noise.

5.38 is as low as you can get with a 14 bolt.
