Im hoping with the new President coming in, prolly Obama, that the troops will be pulled from Iraq, Afganistan, and Kuwait.  Just wondering what everyone thinks

Regardless of how you feel about this war, don't forget that the men & women that are over there are fighting for us, we all owe them our deepest gratitude and respect for that.  When you see an active or retired service member shake their hand and say thanks for your service , it's a gift from you that will bring a smile to their face.  ;D

As a soldier stationed overseas, i agree with that completly coming home and having somebody you dont even know, come up to u and shake ur hand and say thank you........one of the best feelings in the world.

Here's the part I don't understand..
Republicans - approve of the war, stop the terrorists, homeland security, stand strong.. etc...

Democrats - Stop the war, it's wrong, bring the troops home.. he lied etc...

yet.. when Prez Bush goes to congress for an addional Quazibillion dollars to fund it..
poof.. they're all on the wagon and approve the funding without very little discussion..
this has happened every 6 months since we went there.

is this anti war issue a Government backed issue.. or Media backed??
seems to me that the anti's and Dems are a little 2 faced on the issue..
Thought we were all "United" after 9.11.. terrorism is terrorism no matter where your at..
If we "Bring the troops home" then what.. hide under the porch and hope they leave us alone!?!?!?!?.

Just some random thoughts...

Here's my thoughts on that. First off, I'm not a Democrat, just playing Devil's Advocate for a minute. I think they are not fighting the funding because they feel that if the troops are over there, they should have all the resources they need. Nothing would be worse than having all of our boys over there run out of ammo and supplies because a couple of commies wanted to tie up their funding in a political debate. Just my ==2cents .

I can appreciate that, it would be political suicide as well as immoral, but you don't hear from them much either.. vocally.
I honestly feel that the " Anti " push is more closely related to the Media and not so much the Government.. sure there are "anti's" in the govt. but not so sure there are that many.. hence.. not much argument.

I think its a great "Ratings" getter for the media.. create the conflict of intrest and just keep feeding it, if I remember correctly the media was all over the start of the war.. imbedded journalists... battlefield to livingroom coverage within minutes.. go go go... Heraldo in an APC etc...
once the "thrill" (please excuse the term) started to die off.. they changed tactics...

Obama is using the "Bring the troops home" in his campiagn... yet supports sending more troops to Afgahn. which he's been kinda quiet about.  ???

yea our government wants the change not them. Its not like us and japan in WW2. both sides fought like hell for every inch, then we literally blew them to hell THEN fixed everything for them and told them how to live. Japan LOVES america for that. its not going to be the same thing with the arabs. they are fanatical fruit baskets over there, no honour or morales..... they are all religious zealots

Our Government is running out of BS EXCUSES of WHY we are even there for now..

First it was weapons of Mass Destruction, we found out there were NONE.

Next it was another reason why we were there, than yet another reason ect ect ect.

I am sick/tired of the ''good ole USA'' being the baby sitters for OTHER Countries when WE [ the USA ] have millions of our OWN AMERICAN CITIZENS that are homeless, dont have health care, dont have jobs, food ect ect ect, but we can seem to find BILLIONS of dollars to fix ANOTHER country?-------- BS IMO!

I want our kids back home. To hell with Iraq/ Iran!

I agree that they should slowly be pulling troops out and letting them take care of their own problem over there, correct me if I'm wrong... but iraq didn't have anything to do with the planes that hit the towers that suposably started all of this... by the way wheres osama? i dont think their even looking for him anymore. a=f

neither political side wants to pull troops. ==2cents from my point of view.... the country going to p00 and nobody up in the government cares, their living good, and not feeling the effects of their decisions. I mean.. seriously do you think they care if gas is 4 dollars a gallon, they make 100's of thousands of dollars a year, gas could be 50$ a gallon n they wouldnt give a p00.

(thats why i voted ron paul, he might have been a doctor, but hes more of a American than the ones that went in with millions of dollars to start with. im just waiting for the day  where Mc Donalds $10 value menu with a hamburger on it sounds like a great deal because a dollar wont be worth anything.)
