Title: 95 lt1 engine
Post by: Mudduck on July 30, 2008, 02:30:44 PM
my dad and i have a whole car it a caprice  police interceptor car and was told it an lt1 and first i was considering taking out the engine and put it in the samurai  after few researches and few fellow member a opinion  i decide not to do it  then we decided to pull the engine and put it in my crew cab/tow rig  now my question here do i have to use the transmission out of the caprice?  my crew cab has 400 turbo transmission in it right now  and caprice i m assuming it 4l60 something  my  another concern is that i was told that the tranny control the fuel delivery to the engine...  i m kinda hoping i could just pull the engine and wiring harness and put it in the truck and bypass the antitheft system

let me know what you guys think   thanks

The LT-1 engine would be sweet in the sami!, but if your
gonna put it in a tow rig, the 400 will bolt up.

You should send the ecm out to get programmed to bypass
the theft deterrent, rear o2 sensors and auto trans controls.
I do believe Howell efi charges $200 to do it, and they offer
harnesses.
You can also check with affordable fuel injection, they
have harness and programming too.
