Title: 2" coild spacers/axle angle
Post by: jimmy02 on August 04, 2008, 05:51:17 AM
i have a dodge ram lifted but the ass end has always sat higher then the front so i ordered 2" coil spacers to level it out ...
my question is will the angle of my front drive shaft be compinsated to the point to where i should be worried about blowing u-joints, binding or stretching any of the front end suspension parts....

thanks

it shouldnt, but u r gunna wanna make sure, so once u have them in, jack the wheels off the ground and make sure everything still spins like it should.

7" suspension 3" body ass end sits like 2" higher then the front. must be the 4" blocks

just did ball joints uppers and lowers. tie rods both sides. wheel bearings

add a leafs in the back???

if so take those out, or swap out the 4" block for a smaller one.

I dont drive my lifted truck going to school, stock lasts longer lol
Probably what I'd do too.  May sound ==ghey to take a little lift out, but I wouldn't go any higher in the front than 6"-7", unless you are buying longer arms to go along with the additional 2" lift.  Probably be cheaper to just lower the rear too.

lower the rear is what im thinking.

now if i was to get the longer arms is that all i would need to do the 2" spacers?? (longer arms)

yes they are add a leaf. are you saying to loose the 4" blocks and go with 2" blocks and then put the 2" spacers in??

thanks

  * Maybe shocks, brakelines, steering, and driveshafts too.  Depends on how maxxed out everything is now.

  * You could either lose the add-a-leaf or switch the 4" block for a 2" block and it'll probably be close to level.  No need for the spacers if you do this.

stacking blocks... ==sick  X2 on the illegal, and not very safe
