93 honda civic
just picked this up a week ago, the factory radio or the aftermarket cdplayer, will not hold memory when i turn it off... loses time, stored stations and what not...
just wondering if anyone here had any ideas
on the after market cd player. make sure the yellow wire is hooked to constant 12+ volt power. and make sure the red wire is connected to switchable source. like the ignition. did you buy the adaptor plug from wal mart or just splice the wires? if you need more help i can do it next week sometime, if this doesnt help ya
factory radios are the same, they all have 2 wires for power, one turns the raido on when the ignition comes on, and the other one is constant voltage that is there at all times to save your memory, save the time and all that stuff your mentioning ISNT working. ill bet that somehow that wire isnt supplying the power at all times. like J.C. said, if there is an adapter trace the wires with a light tester to see. its pretty simple stuff all in all.
Check your fuse box. Prob the cig lighter fuse. Make sure nothing got in the cig lighter like a penny or something.
