I would go with a 6in lift to clear 35s and look good

for a 84 blazer 6inch lift with shocks

6 inch is what i have in my k5 i run 35 14.5 15 thorn birds in the sand and if i get hard on the gas and hit a hole at the same time i turn they some times hit the fenders i use 35 12.5 15 in the mud with no problems

Do you want to trim the fenders at all?  That will determine a lot.
