Title: accelerator sticking
Post by: ~SwampRAT~ on August 26, 2008, 01:24:50 AM
never had a problem with my accelerator sticking when i was running my edlebrock but i got a holley 650 on my 460 when i got it and its been running so good i dont wanna swap on my predator till i have to. anyways, the accelerator keeps sticking on my holley. ill soak it down with PB Blaster and loosen it up and its pretty good for awhile. when i go bogging though the dust seems to totally reverse what the PB Blaster had done. i put on an extra spring as well and still it ends up sticking when im bogging. i guess my question is what do you guys do to keep this from happening? and little tricks or anything that you guys know? thanks in advance.

i always covered my linkage joints with light grease if they stuck while offroading and problem solved.  helps keep the dirt out of the linkage. also isnt there like a float needle or something in there that moves with the throttel that can stick also?? not sure

clean where the throttle plate touches the body of the carb, if its gunked up it will stick a lil
