anyone ever port there own heads?? if so what did ya use and how far on a stock chevy 350 head can i go and still be safe? its an older 70's style 350 and i have a early 80's 350 style also. and before anyone starts with all the why ya doing this and its a waste of time i dont wanna hear drama. if ya done this before and know the ups and downs and the how to's feel free to answer. without having a way to CC them the best thing you can do is gasket match them. put your gaskets in place on the heads and intake, then take a sharpe and mark all the material that sticks out into the ports, then remove that material.
You can use a die grinder with a carbide bit but you'd be better off getting a kit from summit or jegs that fit on a dremel.

don't forget to blend the bowls also. make sure to take extra care of the short side radius. make it a smooth transition to the valve face. i have ported a ton of heads i can show you how if u are interested. pm if interested
