Fell off a 20ft ladder @ work today around 12, landed on my back, didnt feel bad after it happened, got out @ 4:30, got home and my back was killing me, decided to go to urgent care @ 7, got xrays, and found out that I have soft tissue damage and possibly bruising around my ribcage on the right side of my back...And they give me my paperwork that says no lifting below knee or torso, no lifting or carrying objects more than 12 inches away from torso, no twisting torso, sitting work only with leg elevated, no climbing stairs, ladders or poles, no squatting, no kneeling, avoid walking on uneven surfaces, avoid awkward positions which require sustained bending, no driving any vehicles @ work, no driving manual transmission vehicles, use escort to and from work...
"hello, im a machinist!"..."i work in a manufacturing shop and I lift over 800 pounds daily" and they gave me this little note that says "may return to work on 9-3-08"...if i cant do anything, why bother going to work when im still getting paid...

i had a buddy that fell of a 15 foot ladder and broke both his arm and legs...good 2 hear ur ok ish
yeah a few years ago i fell of my parents roof. I was getting down from the roof when i put my weight on the ladder it took off and down i came. I was wrapped up in the ladder and when i hit the ground i was half on my side and half facing the ground. i ended up breaking my right foot and both wrists from trying to keep my head from hitting the ground. it wasnt fun i can tell you that i had to use a wheelchair to go anywhere or i had to hop on one foot. anyway i hope everything is ok and you feel better soon. i know how you feel

but her dad will prolly give her hard time about getting it and will fight with her about it.. because he is an asshat like that..
I was installing cable once, up about 18-20 feet and the ladder took off down the line. i hung on for dear life and it slid down about 20 feet then stopped and the momentum threw me off the ladder. LUCKILY i landed in a big ass bush that broke my fall. scary ass ride let me tell ya lol
ouch sorry man
