not being a chevy guy i was wondering if the 496
is a good powerplant and is it capable of 600-700
horse?just asking because i've got a line on one
for a real good price.

they rock and can make alot more power than 600-700....

they make power,and can be extremely fun to play with.. but.. if built with "budget" parts.. they can be exspensive.

They do have a lot  of power I have one in my 02 2500 HD and I have no complaints being  stock it makes almost 400 hp and with the allison trans and t-case I have no trouble pulling anything.

i got a buddy with new rods (eagle lightweight h-beams) and used areis pistons for that (13:1 compression with open chamber head (119cc)). he is trying to get rid of them. he would prolly get off them pretty cheap. pm me if interested
