I need the plug wire diagram for 93 tbi350 asap! some idiot kid tried to do it and F***ed it all up.
the firing order is 18436572 if u are standing at the front of the truck looking back at the truck the cylinders on the right are odd 1-3-5-7 and the left (passenger side ) are even 2-4-6-8 the #1 on the cap on those engines usually have a little black cap lookin deal protruding from the cap next to where the wire goes on. if not just go from #1 basically straight to the cap and that is where # 1 wire goes on hope that made sense
i consulted a chilton manual, and i got the right firing order and now it wont run at all, doesnt even act like it wants to start. Could it be the coil? ran fine before plugs wires cap and rotor. and can you put the rotor on too far down?
pull a plug and check for spark!!! if you got spark make sure your wires are right and not 180 off!
some people drop the distributor in wrong too.. my niebor drops it in so the #1 plug wire points at the #2 cylinder... best bet is pull it out, drop it in right, and run your plug wires all over.. . if that dont fix it u might have a bad ignition module (under cap on HEI, can make it spark all over the firing order) or coil.
when you drop the distributor in the motor you want the cap to face the #1 cylinder. then set the cap on the distributor and set that as ur #1 plug in your firing order. MAKE SURE THE #1 CYLINDER IS AT TOP DEAD CENTER when you put the distributor in. throw a light on it and get it running. you will have to unplug the computer so it doesn't advance on you when you are setting the timing. get your initial timing at 0 degrees and the shut the truck off, plug the wire back in, and start it back up again. check with your light and make sure it works, but it should be about 32-36 degrees of timing on that truck. i assume this is stock or mildly built motor, correct??
