Just wandering if any one has one an how they like it ?
I'm looking to get one also. not the insert thou. My sister has one and they really like it they are using it in place of the furnace.
i think herb has a corn burner
I'M THINKIN OF TRADIN IN THE WOODSTOVE FOR A COMBO BURNER ABOUT 1500 PLUS BUCKS KNOW A FEW THAT HAVE THEM LOVE THEM BUT THIS WOULD BE MY ONLY HEAT I SAY DO IT
I GOT ONE LOVE IT MINE A CORN BURNER HEAT THE HOLE HOUSE
I think we are going too do it just a big investment but from all I have heard it will heat the hole house for a fraction of what natural gas is going to cost this year. Will take a few years to pay for its self. Going with one that is a little pricey ($3130) out the door an 1 ton of pellets ($190) Get to claim it on taxes tho. Its a alternative fuel tax write off only for 08. Know more wood cutting, splitting, hauling just grab a bag of pellets. I think I'm going to love it. The guy I talked to the other day said you will not burn more than 3 to 4 ton if you run it all the time. Them are some good numbers in my book heat house for hole winter for under $800
I went to corn two years ago, got the amaizablaze 7100....propane was costing me 500 to 600 a month ( very drafty old house ) I can heat the house....up to 80 dgrees if I want for about twenty bucks a week.....paid for itself the first winter I used it....called the propane company and told them to come get the damn pig.....no gas here at all anymore ;D
We got a corn burner, and love it.
Well its all in an plowing heat love it so far. Need too get some fans mounted to the ceiling at the stairs too blow heat up stairs. Time will tell if its going too heat hole house in the colder months.
my friends have a corn burner, i love it! they have a ranch style home, and it heats the whole thing really nicely. plus, it just has this nice smell to it outside, you can always tell when it's up and running because you smell the corn outside!
I THINK corn may be better than wood pellets. do your research on prices and availability. I heard there was a shortage of pellets. and the cost has raised.
their may be state and / or federal tax incentives for you. I know they have some tax breaks for wind power.
I think over all it is a great idea.
good luck
