This is a Duh kinda ? but, with an auto trans, if u place the shifter in 2nd gear position, and come to a complete stop, the trans should shift down to first then when u take off, shift to second and stay in second right?...........
No in new trans they are all electric and when you put it in 2nd it will down shift into second and stay there even on take off, helps to not spin in slippery conditions. But it will not go into first, that feature is known as second gear starts. Hope that helps.
Yeah the new ones stay in 2nd when u put them there, (the chrysler 300 at the school does that) but newbert had that trouble with his 00' dakota, he changed the filter and flushed the trans, its been fine since.
Thanks, i was wondering, cuz i never noticed it before the other day makes sence now.
