Here is my first bogger build. bear with me as i move at the speed of dark. this is a low/no dollar build of spare parts and what i can find cheap. I blame bob for most of it ;D . Here is the consept

well, i got to thinking that i had another body in hiding and could sell this one to get some funding. so here we go.
one thing leads to another, so i buy a '84 chevy short box frame for $125.
so now i need to shorten the frame to a 113" w/b so out comes 4" of the frame. sorry still trying to find the pics.
here is the real fun, lets dig out the doner body out of storage.
I brought this body after i brought the gray grand as it was a nicer shell and i could sell the grand to fund the "speed wagon" project.
a couple of pics of the body out side of the barn before mounting

the tires are not bolted up,just sitting there. at that point i still needed to do the axles which are a dana70 in front(thanks herb) and a corp14 rear.one thing leads to another and i get talked in to going bigger and running a set of 14.9-24 r1 and r4 tractor tires(thanks bob)

I live 6 miles north of belin speedway on 8th ave. as for where i'll run it??? i would like to go all over as funds allow. its for sure going to the dunes once. that damn cool looking swamp down by battle creek is another one i would like to do. for me most of the fun is building it.

Slowly but surly im making head way. I got my front axle finaly and got both axles debraked. To give you an idea how much wieght i lost on these axles by debraking, a drum wieghes in at 90lbs and the backing plates and shoes at 68lbs. it adds up to just over 600lbs in fat removed. I have also been working on building my new rims, i have one more rim to clean up so i can start welding in the new centers i made out of some old semi rims. I'll try to get some pics up in the next couple days. Trout

Thanks, I'm a machinist by trade and i started out not knowing jack 20 plus years ago. If you got a ? just ask, i'll try to answer it.
I do a lot of ? asking, research and photo studing on what others have done and if it works or not, and a lot of dootals on paper. i also make little ruff scale modles with bailing wire and cardboard to see if ideas will work. I do stuff like this to relax. Here is something to blow your mind, http://s399.photobucket.com/albums/pp78/blazentrout/cover/ I built this about 10 years ago. My kids now take most of my time. Trout
I liked her to, she was from oklahoma and was 18 at the time. her first cover shot to. What sad is its sat in its trailer for 4 years now gathering dust. now on to some update pics. making 15x24 5ton rims. Total cost for the new centers $60 and some time.
What i started with
(http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp78/blazentrout/bogger/IMG_0509.jpg)
the 24.5 rims i cut down for the centers,
(http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp78/blazentrout/bogger/IMG_0505.jpg)
The center removed and cleaned up,

The rims with the centers tacked in place, 4" of back spacing,

Still need to sand blast and powder coat. until next time Trout

Not much new to add, just collecting parts. got 16 hiems from wildtime, 5 more 66's,2 rims and a 5ton driveshaft from swampthing. so as soon as every one feels better i'm going to start on the 4 link, brackets and the cradel. just need to find 2 more rims and get to work on them.
been working on it a little, my hiems

just let me know and i would like to see them. I would like to know how that would perform in the mud for the componets. i looked at that a while a go but i dont know what i want to do for fuel yet. the cad 472/500 are def low end motors but they are a well built unit stock and have some umf.

I try not to build them, takes to long, then you cant play with them. 9 times out of 10 they ask me if they can take pics with it. or do you meen the little blazer?

there's a few guys up here running them in the mud, it's a sealed system, besides propane is 110-115 octane and my factory caddy mil is 10:1 compression, I'm going with 2 tanks for the weekends. I also found an adaptor to replace the BOP 400 with a chevy 400, it's from MTS , maximum torque specialties, also on www.500cid.com

i'll wiegh them when they are done, but i will wager that they are 160 to 180lbs lighter a piece than yours. My 24x15's wiegh 92lbs a piece. and i know the flanges were 42lbs each and the centers are 31lbs. i did not wiegh the tube before i started but i dont think its over 50 lbs wich puts me about 165lbs compared to 380 to 400lbs for the stock ones.
you just really want the cut xt's im going to mount up on them. lol
Ok, i had a chance to wiegh them. They come in at 207lbs each.

I would not call it easy, but i have more time that money. the biggest thing is you need to do a good job welding them up, the rest is basic fab. if you have any questions just ask as i have learnd a lot.
