Im a first timer with a question
How big of a truck do i need to get around there pretty good
Depends on what you want to do. Don't matter on the size of the truck as long as you have an ORV sticker and a muffler on it, you are good to go. If you want to play in the mud, then you need a big truck. Or if you like to trail ride, then you need a med. to small truck.
I've seen stock 2wd trucks back there you just gotta stay in area's compatable with the truck you've got......
then its safe to say a dodge ram can get around there pretty good then right?
yea you'll be fine just watch other trucks go through the holes before you go to be sure it's not to deep.
thanks for not being a dick like the guys on GL i appreciate it
No problem I'd hate to see ya get there and sink it in a hole that's over your hood and kill it that's why I recomend watching before trying a hole. have fun
You should not have any problems in a lot of area's. There are 480 acre's of play room.
Yep, friendly group here..
your truck will do just fine for some light duty wheelin..
watch others.. take a chance or 2
be careful.. there are holes out there that will swallow a truck whole..
trees that will award body side trophies..
and some off camber stuff that'll make it real easy to get to a drain plug
hook up with someone else and ride.. you'll be ok.

X2
I tried a hole that looked fine and my truck fell through what I found out was ice. Going with a friend with another 4x4 is also good just in case ya get stuck. People out there are nice and will help ya out.
I debate taking my 2wd out there but I don't want to get stuck, nor do I want to break the thing while I still have payments to make on it.
just use your best judgement when u come up to something either go around or go thru it or turn around head back for parking lot

my brother and I took our 2wds out there a few times, it just sucks with snow. The muddy season is fine though.

dude youll be totally fine out there. my brother slapped a ORV on his mini van when the tranny went out and he went apeshit out there and never got stuck. course we know what not to go into lol just drive smart and youll have a blast
Actually, there are alot of places to get yourself stuck at the Mounds IF you dont know what your doing. And I would NEVER take a 2wd OR 4WD truck back their without knowing darn well that I had some HELP if/when I got STUCK.
I was there today riding my 800cc 4x4 ATV and about noon, there is a few guys and their buddies playing around back there and one of the guys in an older Dodge Ram 4x4 broke thru an ice rutt near the rock crawl area..He broke my tow strap and his buddies tow strap. He was stuck SO BAD that two 4x4 pick ups could not get him out. So its about 4:30pm when I leave the place and the guy is STILL STUCK back there..
He is going to leave the truck back there tonight as it was just getting too late to do anything further [ red/white Dodge Ram] and IF any of you good guys from wegotmud are going to be out to the Mounds tomorrow, im certain that he'd appreciate any help you could give him,as this guy is hung-up real good and he's from the Westland area.
Hopefully somebody with a powerful winch?
ok, plain and simple, you can go allllllll the way back to the bogging area in a car if you want. ive seen it done many times and ive had a 2-wheel ranger out there prolly 10 times. there is a main trail and as long as you stay on that, you will have no issues. its real easy to navigate and youll know the main trail when you see it. pretty sure its nick named i-75 and thats for a reason, its prolly 3 lanes wide in most spots, lol. as long as your not a complete idiot, youll be fine!
<--------complete idiot so id be screwed lol
