why   do you want to    is the question   will it hurt  no.   i'm sure there is a lot of the trucks  missin  loose   or broken ears on the trans

IN THE FALL I PUT THE 3RD MOTOR IN MY BOGGER   AND FOUND AN EAR BROKEN ON MY 400.   DONT KNOW WHEN IT HAPPEN    BUT THE EAR WAS STILL UP THERE COVERED OR STUCK IN THE MUD

just an fyi, the reason that the bolt holes on your tranny and engine are spread like they are is so that the weight of the tranny is spread out equal. it keeps the weight from the rest of the drive train from pulling down on just one small spot. ya it might not hurt anything but with that tranny missing one of its ears thats one less support mounts it has to hold onto and one less spot to keep pressure off.

Just run it you said the ear is broke anyways so if the belhouising breaks the rest of the way your not really out anything but the time if you know what I mean..
