takin apart a rear axle on a jeep wrangler and have everything out sept for the pinion must you beat them out? or are they pressed out? axle is a dana 35

use a rubber mallet or spin the nut back on flush with the pinion end and hit it they are some what pressed on the outer but the inner is all the way pressed on

Yep, some gentle persuasion with a hammer (soft mallet is best) should pop it right out.

ended up usin a little persuasion lol (5 pound sledge and a block of wood)
