I have a 750 holly double pumper on it and it runs OK but was just wandering if a 670cfm truck avenger carb would be enough or should I stay with the double pumper.
if yo u wanna do some math here is a link to figure it out

I would run a 850 double pumper... I had a 750 on my 383 swaped toa 850 and it ran 10x better! I dont think a 670 would be anywhere close to what you need!

Thats Kinda what I was thinking too small.
if its realy 550 hp, i go with a 850 to 950 carb.

I 'am going too get new one. Just don't know what kind yet but its looking like 850 of some kind. Never really liked the 750 holly I have.
if you wanna spend the money try a demon. i have had pretty good luck with them but they are pricey. i usually go with a nice holly double pumper if it's a race motor or if it's street driven a vac secondary carb works good too. for that much power your going to need at least a 750 if not a 850 to feed it.
question. what intake manifold are you running? single or dual plane? who makes it as well. if you run a dual plane you'll want a bigger carb then if you run a single plane manifold then you can run a smaller carb.
if you estemate your VE you can find the cfm your engine needs
FORMULA FOR CFM
CFM = CID x RPM x VE รท 3456
Get ahold of Pro systems tell them what you have and they will build you a carb for optimum power, I would'nt run any other carb!
I agree with oakly Prosystems built my carb for my 393 for the same price as buying one off the shelf and it rocks

yea we got 650 on the bronco and never got it to run perfect not even close
750 seem too starve for fuel at times. Could be that I was still running the small mechanical pump.The one on side of block. Going too change that too. Going too electric pump. Don't know what kind yet
