Does anybody use these? Something like the Ride-Rite system from Firestone. How would they work on a truck that is lifted, say 4"? Could the rear end still articulate if you were to take it off-road? Once I put the 14 bolt on the '85 I want to put these on it so I can haul my stock trailer without sagginf the rear end down to the pavement. Back in the day they used to have them where each had it's own valve. Cheaper option than mounting a compressor. Would work fine for me since I'd only be towing once or twice a month.
i dont see why not, i would just drop the upper bracket down a few inches
I run the super duty bags from airlift in all my trucks they work great 2 trucks have the system in them with the compressor and the others don't not shur on lifted trucks though might call air lift they may make a taller bag or somthing
are you runing lift spirings? if not they go in like a stock truck and work great
Yes, it is all spring lift (or will be after next week). That's why I wasn't sure if they would work with the additional height.
They'll work as long as you make different mounting brackets to make up for the lift. But I would think they would decrease how much the suspension could flex unless you made them so you could pull a pin or two and let them move freely ==shrug

That's my other thought. I don't have one to look at the mounts, but I wonder if there's a bolt or two I could undo to pull just the bag out and leave in the upper and lower mount? That would work sweet since I only haul the horses every six weeks to get trimmed and then once a month in the summer for pulls or plow days. I wouldn't mind if it took 15 minutes to take them in and out.
it debends on the bag, it will either be 4 3/8bolts for airlifts (2 top/2bottom). goodyears and firestones 2 3/8 nuts top, and either 1 or 2 3/8 bolts for the bottems, i have sean them either way. these are for the 2500/2600 double convoluted bags. i would call airlift and see what they say, they may have a setup for a 4" lift.
if you dont mind haveing stock travel and artickulatin just build a 4"spacer and save a lot of monkey fn around. the cups we use is only 3/16 wall for the front of the trucks, so it is doable.if you want a pic i think i have a 2600 around the shop and a cup to.
if you wanted to be a real cheap you could just build your own, suicidedoors.com has good prices on bags.
im running them on the back of my 99 f250 the double convoluted style . if i were you id buy the triple convoluted ones from www.airbagit.com they would work well with a lifted truck and there just as or stronger than the airlift kit and should allow the articulation
