Post by: ufospy on February 01, 2009, 06:33:25 PM
ok i have a eb dana 44 and it has drum brakes, i would like to convert to disc brakes but all the conversion kits i see are like 500 to 1000 dollars, is there another way to do this cheap?

not positive, so dont quote me. but coudlnt you find a dana 44 with disk brakes (weather it be EB or full size) and just take the hardware from that? i would imagine that the housing and everything else is the same just different widths. im sure that if im wrong someone will mention it, lol.

you can use all the outer stuff off like a 78 or 79 dana 44 and put on early bronco 44  got a buddy that just did it!!

You will have to use the knuckles and everything off like a 78 79  the spindles on the eb fronts are 6 holes the spindles on a fullsize are a bigger 5 holes pattern the only spindels that aare the same as fullsize are like 76 77 with disc already
