Just curious, but does anyone know any friends or family that own a 2wd pickup that is lifted up with a/t or m/t tires or even boggers? Could you do me a favor and ask them why they bought a 2wd truck instead of 4wd if they lifted it and put aggressive tires on it. Seems like a lot of people are doing it here in Detroit.
dont know the guy but ther is one in baycity that put like a 12" lift in the front and 8" lift in the rear to 96 c1500. every time i see it i have to think why ???
I just don't understand. This girl I know has an almost brand new chevy with like 4 or inch lift and maybe 33 inch bfgoodrich a/ts. Why? She thinks she won't get stuck lol.
they want that 4x4 look without the 4x4 gas price. Other then that Ive no clue why someone would do that

Still, the tires and height would still drag mileage down quite a bit correct?
hey I didnt say itd be 30mpg but itd beat a 4x4 still lol

lol, according to fueleconomy.gov there is only a 1mpg difference in newer trucks.
I did it twice. and my brother did it once.
The only reason was that I had to do something to the truck. And to be honest I hate lowered trucks. So I went lifted.
My first was my 98 S10. I bought it because I was out a vehicle (old explorer got totaled) and saw a nice cheap awsome truck. and I liked to offroad, it worked for the time being.

The second was my 95 Ranger, I saw the truck, was an awsome deal plus it was a stick and a 4.0L so I got it. I lifted it for the mean time because I had plans for a solid axle then it lost my attention and here I am with my F150

My brother is the same way as me. But he started off as his truck to be his DD, but then he lifted it, went offroad etc etc. and now I convinced him to use my solid axle parts, he has a 4x4 trans, took my t-case. we are going out to mounds once more with it to remind himself why he is doing a SFA.

i had a 2wd blazer 2002, 3.42 with a posi in the rear... good set of tires and youll get most places some 4x4s can, just gotta know where you can and cant go :)

That is true for 4wd and 2wd. Let's just say I learned quick what the difference between bogging and trails are REAL fast. Hopefully I will use the leftover parts from my Dodge to build a badass cj, or tj.
I had a 76' Datsun king cab 2wd, lifted, aggressive tires in the rear..
it got me around great in W Texas dessert.. I had a ball in that truck..
No $$, it was what I could afford at the time..
ive went on a few trails w/ my 91' 2wd sonoma, gets around decent for having bald stock size tires... went most places the 4x4s were goin.. but i had to use more momentum lol.
each his own i guess.
