Title: Gas Mileage
Post by: MrCompton734 on March 13, 2009, 08:18:00 PM
So I've been seeing a few things around the jegs.com and other sites claiming "increase mpg" blah blah. And one of them is headers, now I'm going to get headers put on my truck whether they make it suck gas or save gas. But I'm just curious, what has everyone experience that actually does save gas? Headers, intakes, spacers, whatever. I can for sure say that a freer flowing intake(IE removing stock air box for a knn cone filter)does improve it a bit.

the spacers only work if the fuel is injected before the spacer..........if it it injected into the intake manifold like a ford they have no effect, Headers do, they work better without the cat-converter. and if its a performance intake i would imagine it does improve milage

Keeping stock tires and such helps with gas. There isn't much that will make mileage better on a gasser, but diesels can get better than stock.
I'm not worried about mileage, just curious if the old tales are true. Definitely can't have stock tires lol.
