I'm throwing together another jeep just for poops and giggles,to use up some of the extra parts in the garage and the back yard. It's a 78 frame and a 55-71 glass tub. I'll most likely use a 78 windshield and a steel front clip since the glass front clip I have is the pre-72.I'm putting in a small block chevy with a 2-barrel for now,but I might switch to a 4-barrel later.
looks like u got a nice project!
project extra parts nice and cheap looks good
For being extra parts you cant beat it! Looks like alot of fun to me!
I think I have most of the parts that I need to put it together, but I wish I could find a fiberglass front clip for it. Maybe I'll use the steel hood and build some flat fenders. I want to get some more work done on this pretty soon, so I can sort through my parts and decide what to keep, and sell or barter the rest. I have an amc 360,trans,and quadratrac and some jeep driveshafts I'd like to get rid of and a fiberglass 55-71 hood and both fenders. Let's deal.....
I got the windshield frame put on today, now that I found the right hinges.I'm using a 68-69 style frame.Next project is to fix the leaky freeze plug, then switch the harmonic balancer and water pump over to the later style brackets and long pump. This motor was still set up to run a generator.
==cl Those projects are my favorite. You're looking around the yard one day and say, "Hey, I've got enough stuff here to build a truck! I should do that!"
bump
I got some more done over the weekend.I picked up a set of glass fenders for 20 bucks, and traded some parts for a grille.
looks like your gaining some ground
i bet its nice to have all the extra parts to build another rig. wish i had that kind of storage w/o my neighbors calling the city on me.itl b sweet wen its done
More planned for tomorrow. Putting the radiator in and finishing the front harness, then hopefully firing it up.
It's alive.I've fired it up a couple times now,and it runs pretty good.I had big plans to get it ready to go to opening weekend, until I knocked a hole in the radiator first thing today.Anyone have a radiator for trade?
Wow,it's been a while since I updated this.

Nope,I wish I had that much time and talent.I traded some other parts for it,plus a bunch of other parts.
Updating, finally. I'm building some flat fenders to gain some tire clearance in the front.
nice looking jeep just for being a bunch of spare parts
Flat fender pics. The fenderwells came from a Chevy truck box.
New paint on my 74
