anybody else hear that GM is shutting down most plants for 9+ weeks? im Glad cause i wont be getting laid off! ;D but its gonna suck for alot of people.........

The big three always shuts down for 2 or 3 weeks in the summer anyway for retooling to make next years models. Most Tier 1 auto parts suppliers, Delphi, Federal Mogul, Meridian ect ect does the same thing.

i'm already laid off because of gm!  but hopefully i will be getting a call from the operating engineers in the next couple of weeks :)

My hours have been crap since November.  I'm pretty much jobless at this point.

will be annoced later today but. their shuting down 90% for the U.S. factories and the ones that do stay open will be running at slower line speeds.  The shut down will be from mid-may to end of july happy summer unemployed I will have.

Yes, they're talking about it on the news right now. The difference this year is there's a better chance of them not starting back up...

haha i already rady have two jobs lined up if i get laid off.

well I got my lay off notice tonight at work April 11 to  July  12 for right now may be longer  9 weeks so far.

we will be shutting down all lines except for one,
and it looks like i might be the only maintenance
guy working.(thank god for that)
