They're saying on the news it's killed 150 people in Mexico so far. Most of which were relatively healthy otherwise. As for me, I don't go anywhere for the most part so I'm not to worried. My only concern is for my grandparents if they get it.

well the reason its killing people in mexico is they arent going to the hospital ==doh. if you start feeling symtoms of the flu then head to the hospital. there is plenty of things they can do.

It is worse for people with a strong immune system...this is the same type of flu as the 1918 flu that killed 50 million people all in their 20's 30's and 40's. Here is a short rundown.

Think about it like this: Typically, you think of someone who has a weakened immune system, who's going to be most adversely affected by an infection. Their immune system simply can't fight it.

But in these cases, it's the immune system itself that reacts robustly, and it's the immune system in that reaction to the virus that is causing death in these patients. So the virus starts that cascade, but all that fluid builds up in the lungs, and all those inflammatory cells throughout the body -- that's what's causing the problem. We saw the same thing with SARS and with avian flu as well.
Health Library

[people in their] 20s and 30s and 40s, they say that's been the bulk of their patients with regard to swine flu.

I myself have a bunch of kids in school and that sucks...I got a bunch of cans of Lysol and spray their hands with it as soon as they walk through the door ==roll. Spray all door knobs, faucet handles, refrigerator handles ect ect ect ect ect ect ect ect! I even spray my money with it when I get home from the store!

One more thing, all my friends laughed at me when I was stocking up on Food and MRE's as well as water and other supplies. I have been doing this for over three years now and if the p00 hits the fan and there is a epidemic I can bed my whole family down in my house and not go outside for anything for 6 months...see who is laughing then ==roll

I think this is way way exagerated.

I would like to see the numbers on how many people die from the typical flu in the same time frame.

And, I am pretty sure that it is only a real danger for those that are old, extemely young (infants) and those with compromised respritory systems.

If you are in good health... you are very unlikely to die from this.  Just treat the flu symptoms as instructed and all will be good.

There have only been 64 cases of it in the US of right now.

http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/

I believe in the US there are typically more than 30,000 deaths per year caused by 'the flu'

aporkalypse ==roll ==roll ==lmaoo, I dont know yet what to think of this swine flu, except every year there is somthing that the news focuses on , somthing to frighten people , and it always works, people are attracted to the news for the latest developments, if it isnt someone killing people it somthing killing people, is'nt it somthing how death and destruction seem to be the one thing we all focus on when it comes to the news, ok theres weather and sports also but it goes in this order
death and destruction, weather, sports, HA HA HA ,..... cmon , were pretty safe here in the USA, if you or someone in your family gets sick get em to the hospital , as they said on the six million doller man "we have the tecnology"...
