Title: A Tip About Worm Viruses
Post by: dsJeep on July 12, 2009, 11:28:43 PM
As you may know, when/if a worm virus gets
into your computer it heads straight for
your email address book, and sends itself
to everyone in there, thus infecting all
your friends and associates.

This trick won't keep you from getting a
virus in your computer, but it will stop
one from spreading and will alert you to
its presence.

Here is what you do:

1. Open your address book and click on
   "New Contact"

2. Where you would add your new contacts
name put "A" in as the name

3. For the screen name or email address
   type "AAAAAAA@AAA.AAA"

4. Save it as you would for anyone else

Now this will be the first contact on your
list and it will be the first address the
worm tries, because it is a fake address
it wont be able to send and the worm can't
get past it.

The other nice thing about this trick is
you will be notified that a message to
"AAAAAAA@AAA.AAA" could not be delivered,
and you'll know right away that you have
a virus and can take steps to get rid of
it :)
