i think it depends on what you plan on doing with the truck, if you plan on flexing it out i would go with coil springs or coil overs, also depends on if your trying to lift your truck? and how much, its deff easier to throw diff leaf springs in the stock place, but a good 4 link is what i would run if you wanna stand out from the crowd, with a nice set of coil overs , or  air shocks, and have a great suspension setup.4 link is way stronger too..Monster trucks dont have leaf springs for a reason!!!!

agree with mi redneck u can build 4 link from scrath for farely cheap coil springs out of a ford pick up work good and some cutting measuring but u can also spend thousands doing it. but there is ways about making leaf springs flex to.

You can never research this enough, it's all based on opinion and what your doing with your rig. Personally for a front suspension you can do a radius arm, a 3 link, a one link, 4 link, and in the rear you can stay leafs for stability or coil it 4 link, I like and run a 3 link front with xj coils and xj leafs in the back of my samurai but I'm soon going coils in the rear and I'm strickly offroad so I'm going with softer 150 # springs but if I was on road some maybe 200 to 250 for stability.

1. what is the truck going to be used for?
2. how much $$ do you want to spend?
3. what is your fab experience?
I have seen leafs ride better than coils and vice versa. Take a look at my jeep build, i built that supention for less than $300 but it was a lot of parts scronging. I can give you a very detailed idea on how to do this swap BUT i need some more info (vatozone time)
Make of truck
tire size
axle type
wheel base desired
stock frame or custom
ride quality
amount of travel desired.
This info should get me started on what you need as evrey thing is a dependes deal. Trout

1. Mud truck of course! Gonna want to jump also!
2. I'm in the poor house!
3. None! Did basic training in MCC that it.

1992 Chevy crewcab 2x4
Don't have tire but eyes balling 44"- 54" tires
Have HD Dana 60 front/HD Dana 70 rear Axles
Wheel base will gotta fit 54" between them crewcab with enough room for tire to flex without hitting cab
I have stock 2x4 frame can use this which is cheapest for me
Like ride quality gona be nice wih coil but what do I know! LOL!
As much wheel travel as I can get! More the merry!
Hope this gonna help Trout and hope this gonna get me going asap!
