The Fix
There recently was an article in the St. Petersburg Fl. Times. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on: "How Would You Fix the Economy?"
I think this guy nailed it!
_____
Dear Mr. President,
Please find below my suggestion for fixing America's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan":
There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.
2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.
3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.
It can't get any easier than that!!
P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes...
Mr. President, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare. I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto!
If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know.
If not, please disregard.
I think this would work !!!!!!!
thats a good idea!!!
i agree good idea
Im a Dubass white boy dont know much about politics n such but sounds good too me
Sounds good to me
Sounds good to me.................but it isnt to be.........the poor are always gettin Fuked over........while the rich continue to shine on.
And what exactly is rich??......not just having millions.........even a 5 figure income could be construed as rich (compared to some peaple), there are those in this country who have............and alot more who Dont have.
So why not distribute the wealth and try to make everybody alittle better off...........but our Gov. is too busy appropriating time and money on other USELESS SHITT.
bottom line is we need to make the stuff we buy!
that would work for me where do i sign up ? lol
hell ya that is a good plan... and i agree with bd need more manufacturing less imports
Wow, they have common sence!! And common sence is hard to come by these days.. I think we should re-do everything with common sence and honest people who aren't in it for the money....

I agree with BD but we have a thang called epa in the usa that won't let the us make thangs!!!!
sounds good to me!
that is a very simple and easy fix
lol like this is a new thread . we all still have the same thoughts about our government and their spending.
its essentially a bailout.. which is false propping up of the economy. Things would appear on the upper for a while, when infact just making the cliff that much steeper. There's no "handout" solution to the economic crisis, only a "hands off" solution. If the government just got out of the economy's way, it would fix its self, by itself.
==2cents
although, it does sound pretty simply put :)
