Title: My current project
Post by: homewrecker john on January 30, 2010, 06:50:50 AM
I came across this on craigslist and decided to go for it.. it is a 68 nova 4 speed car.  Since i got it, replaced the rear quarters, redid the electrical ( work in progress),
put the motor from the jeep in it ( yes traction is a problem) put in a built 350th with 3500 stahl, new headman hustler headers w/ evac system, electric water pump,
put the wires under headers. Hoping to start body work next time i get home. Here a few pics of it.

Here is what i want it to look like when im done with it, execpt black top and silver sides

brings back memories, i had a 69 that I paid 850 bucks for in 1984.  I sold it to my friend when i joined the Army and the sucker blew it up the first day he drove it because he was pushing it.  The thing had zero rust on it, I'd give my brothers left nut to have the car back.

OK...the bug got me again....Right now I have Bias plys on the fronts with radials on the rear...dont handle very good at all so i ordered 2 of these,
(http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc213/JOOHNWITT/MTT-6652.jpg)

Mickey Thompson S/ Radials 26in tall x 6" wide...Hopefully these will make it handle alittle better.

Next I finally ordered my Electric Cutouts from DHM Performance. They have a 4 year warrenty and are guarenteed not leak. I got 2 of them for my 3" pipe.

Well i went to Stanton Dragway today....found out in a big hurry that no matter how wide of street tires you have doesnt always mean you will hook up...First pass was 13:03 @ 109.08 with a 2.4 sec 60' time. ( Can you tell i was spinning :) ) Best of the day was 13:01 at 109.87 ( still 2.1 60' ) and that is not hitting the 4 barrel till about 300 foot or so.

Here are some pics and vids of the day!!!!!

400th on the way with rev manw/trans brake....got a line up on a set of 28x10.5 slicks...gunna have to order a new drive shaft with 1350 joints with new yolks....going to lower the back of it about 1" and remove 1 or 2 leaves out of the back so the weight transfer will be better...either extend the slapper bars or get a set of cal-tracs...then its time to test it again...

thanks for looking!!! HJ
