Well i got my 2.5 ton Rockwells today, as well as a new sbf c-6 and a new 208 and 205 t case and i even weny out and bought some brand new 50" v treads with rockwell centers. So i will be posting up a build thread starting this Saturday.... Taking after my mentor... Kim ( trainhorn) for giving me the inspiration to do this and am going to build a small wheel base mudder. There is 1 catch though. I will be setting it up with a 1 link suspension! So after a year it is finally growing UP! :)

Well i bought 1 set of US joint links, it will be solid at the axles and a new carrier will be built to hold the other end of the link,, pretty simple. here is the joint.. Got the truck in the shop,, started to pull everything out
so it would be a two link suspension or "swing arm suspension" kinda like what i have on my bronco 2

Yep,, tell me more about yours. why did you have to rake out the front? not enough room for everything under the truck or for more stability?

well for starters i put the front end out for better weight transfer, longer wheel base and because it would take some weight off of the front axle it is only a toyota axle so i didnt want to put too much stress on it, sence its getting a BBC this year so it acually works out pretty good im goin to start tearing the old motor and trans out thiss week so i will get some more pictures of how i tied it to the front axle when i get her moved into the garage
sounds like a cool and fun build good luck and keep us posted.
i'll put up more pics soon
Well we got some more work done today,,, we got the rocks centered and the 208 in but we had to clock it down and cut of the locating pin and redrill a hole and we got the spring perches made and the rear springs mounted,

Well off to test it out this weekend at MUDFEST !!!!!
what is going to hold the springs in place on the axle when it flex's out? Seems like you need centering cones or whatever there called
or limiting straps that would be easy
i have to take some more pics, but i put limiting chains on and also bump stops. and there are spring retainers bolted to the springs that you can't really see in these pics
good luck
how did this work out at mudfest
Well after almost 4 months of work my little truck has grown up some. we got it out of the shop and drove it around to work out the bugs and i am happy to say that it should be ready to go to Goldenspike. just have a lot of tweeking to do and a bunch of engine rapping to put on. thanks for all the support you all gave me during this change
IT LIVES !!!!!.

Nice bronco looks awesome !!! how much lift did you end up with total ??? I'm thinking about putting rocks under my 79 bronco next year and was wondering what I'm looking at as far as lift. thanks
well i am not really sure how much, i put in a 6 inch body lift so my t case would not hit and i bought 6 inch lift springs but then i lowered my mounts 4 inches so i guess about 16 inches?
this thing is badass. im totally jealous!
lmao, i'm sorry all it takes is a lot of fab work and you too can have 1
Well we start to putting the 460 in this weekend, hope to have a huge difference in power.
Well here is the update....... i had a new 466 bbf done and it dynoed at 430 hp and 530 ft torque. i had a new c6 tranny built to handle 800 hp. i just got the motor and tranny in and installed a tilt front clip. i also had a tailgait plasma cut. the first run is in 3 weeks and i will posy video for ya.
