Title: headache rack

Buildin a cage and wanna put a headache rack on to protect kids from broken straps etc, what kind of steel do I use, I want it to be seethru ish cause its in a k5 blazer

u can use expanded metal. thatd work pretty well if u could weld it. or u could use some round bar and run it laterally, that would work too. as long as it aint aluminum or galvanized u should be fine with welding

Hell make the louvers hinge like radiator shutters! Open them on the road, close them when tugging.

Expanded metal is your best bet..
this is a safety feature as important as a roll bar in a buggy..
build it STRONG

well if its a buggy what would stop you from doing full back hoops.(behind the seats) exhaust shop and expanded metal, just need some legs to mount them down peobly ad a nice race car seat style curve in to them.

i've thought about somethin like this too, some police cars have the metal cage instead of plexi, might find sumthin in a tahoe that would fit decently? dont know if i would trust expanded metal?  maybe 2 layers of it?
