Hello
I am fairly new to ripping through the mud with my truck. This being my first 4 wheel drive vehicle. The few times that I have been mudding with my Explorer I have had to pull someone out and have to use my bumper hitch. After reading through the forums here and noticing my bumper it tweaked, I realized that I need to do something to make better tow points. But here is my problem, I'm not very mechanically inclined.
So the question is, What would be the best way to attach some sort of tow point to my Explorer? I have looked at Reese hitches as an option but they are way out of my budget. I would appreciate any advice you guys could give a new guy.
Thanks
Find someone that can weld.. for a few $$ you can fab up a
decent pull point pretty easy..
ask around, or post in the wanted section, reciever type assemblies are plentiful..
and can be safely modified to fit your vehicle.
what year is the explorer
It is a 97 Explorer xlt. I was just given a couple of bolt on Hooks rated at 10,000Lbs, mot sure if those will work for the front until I get something better. This is my Daily driver so I don't want to modify it to much, I plan on using it to go mudding until I get a hold of something I can dedicate to mudding.
