Title: not 4wheel but my buggy resto
Post by: damn_ford on September 14, 2010, 07:56:18 PM
might be alittle out of order, i built a new chassis out of 1x tube with diamond plate steel floors, also fabbed up a 1x2 body lift to stiffen the chassis a little more. now getting the old body off and ready for the new chassis

you can see the wiring in the pic, i dont have any pics of it mounted yet but the fairlead sits right at the bottom of the hood the rest of it is hidden. moved the socket that the remote plugs in too off the body of the winch so that it plugs in on the left side of the dash instead of up under the hood.

Do you happen to know what brand of body it is?
Title: Re: not 4wheel but my buggy resto
Post by: damn_ford on November 19, 2010, 01:36:03 PM
that body is a BC Bee made in battle creek michigan. roughly 1966, it was originally on a 62 beetle chassis
the chassis i redid to put it on is a 66

i did trim the rear for engine access the rear down board used to go all the way across.

i have a minibug body made in lansing mi, a sandshark made in dearborn, a turchin super shark
car body made in ontario cal.

there are literally hundreds of body manufacturers.
