i hope someone can help me!
i have a 1998 jeep wrangler 6 cyl 4.0
i drove home one night and the next morning i went to start it and it was like the battery was dead. so i changed the battery and it rolls over now but still don't start!
the volt gauge and gas gauge are not reading at all there dead, the fuel pump does not run, fuel rail has no pressure on it, and has no spark
i replaced the cap, rotor, plugs and also the crankpositoning sensor! and i also checked the codes and it says a throttle postioning senor. still no luck hope someone can help
Sounds like a broken wire to the alternator, bad connection , maybe alternator itself. Id look at the big wire on the alt and follow it, might be loose or broke.. None of the stuff you mentioned will work without some juice. Ignition switch, maybe its not sending juice to the accessories, bad wire to accessories... Im not a jeep guy, but Id sure be lookin at those things - the TPS bein bad is not gonna cause all those other things to not work, I wouldnt think...;D
bad ground wire off the battery
check the relays under the hood on passenger side my 06 had that problem
thanks for the info. i moved relays around and still nothing! battery termanles are clean it rolls over good
check fuses for the fuel pump
fuses and relays are all good checked those right away thanks though
im really thinking ignition switch. when they go out thats what happens. my old buick park ave had its switch go out and it had the same problems. same with our old dodge caravan.

SAME THOUGHT HERE......................my 95 chevy 4x4 truck has the same problem............you turn the key on, but your idiot lights and guages dont work..........and you turn the key, and vehicle turns over but wont fire.
For me...................it was wiring under the dash..........I reached down under the dash and wiggled a pig tail harness that runs up to the steering column................and my idiot lights came on, and truck starts with no problems.
try wiggling some wiring under your dash, and see if that helps.

x3 on that. Mine went out and wouldn't even turn over a year ago. Just hard wire dit myself to switches for everything lol.
had an 89 cherokee 4.0, check the starter connections, mine had a slow draw and drained the battery. also they tend to get sticky in the winter and draw too many amps before cranking.
This thing still wont start???
i will check wire harness for steering column! i there anyway to check a ignition switch?
ign switch and or crank sensor
its a jeepp thing
i know this was awhile ago but i though that i would let everyone know that i was the computer i set it out to a company in flordia that rebuilds them with a life time warrenty for $150 and it is plug and play ready to go! put it back in and the gauges work and it started right up! the company was Auto Computer Exchange and they where about $100 cheaper the a new one from the zone with no warrenty!
