ive had this truck for 2 days and so far i love it, 4.3l 5 speed std cab short box 4x4 only way id take an s-10..lol..it ran real rough when i got it and the 4x4 didnt work, there was a vacume line un hooked on the 4x4 systerm hooked it back up and the 4x4 works great now, there was a hose unhooked from the bottom of the air cleaner hooked that back up and cleaned the tbi system and it runs great now..ive also done one hell of a hackjob on putting a 4foot section of 2.5inch exhaust pipe and a cherry bomb..it leaks like mad because i couldnt weld the top half on..lol..gonna get some muffler clamps and redo it..other than that i am now looking for a new front clip, doors, and a box, ill make my own cab corners and rockers and put a new coat of paint on it...then a 3inch body lift and torsion crank and SOA in the back then some 32's still need a name and a wicked cool paint scheme..help me out..lol
axles outta a jeep wagoneer, theyre 6 lug and ud be able to keep the same t case. leafs all around will be just fine for the amount of lift you would be going. and itd be simpler and cheaper to make urself
how hard is a straight axle conversion on an s-10 i would prolly wanna run 3/4ton leafs for the lift they would give me over half tons.im pretty good at fabricateing and welding but i will need to build the sas off the truck then just pull it in and bolt it on then take it to the shop and weld what needs to be welded there because i cant keep it in the shop

there is no diff between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton leafs for the front of a vehicle, just the back. and as long as you take ur time with ur measurements doing it off the vehicle is completely possible. thats the way i did mine, and i did it all in the driveway. otherwise doing it for an s10 shouldnt be that much different than a full size
only problem i can see is the frame might be different widths...and the face pass side perch is connected to the pig....that might be the only problems i can see....other than get-r-done!!!!
well what would be an easy way to lift it with the suspenion under it? because lift kits are 1300 bucks from trailmaster
you can get 4'' in the rear by putting the axle under the leaf & about 3'' in the front by cranking the torsion bars down... good for about 32's. plus 3' body lift, 33's..
much more than 33's your going to be breaking c/v axles. ==2cents

Wrongo Kyle, There WAS a difference when they built them, but now all you can buy new are the three leaf 3/4 ton, however, originally half tons were only 2 leaves. I would go with the 3 leaves, just because I personally broke a set of the 2 leaves. Oh and if this is for all of us, when do I get to drive? >:D
if i ever get it done and make it to a bog ill let people drive..lol..you just fix what ya break..lol

radius arm it with a 150 straight axle then heim joint the rear of the radius arm for crazy amount's of flex then in the rear do an axle flip like red said then to match the front put some longer shackel's on it
you gunna drive it to work next monday ???

yes use the frod front susp but long armed my old s-10 blazer had it and it rocked I still have the arms off mine!!! let me know I may sell them!
Old school method is add one leaf positive arch to the 2-leaf set-up. MUCH easier. ;D
well ill prolly do the SOA in the rear and torsion key crank tomorrow..and yes im hopeing to be driveing it next week..it needs a lil work when i picked it up it ran real rough and was really doggy and the 4x4 didnt work. i pulled the air cleaner off and gave the injectors and throttle body a good cleaning and crawled underneath and checked the vacume lines and one was loose i hooked it up so it was tight and now she runs great and the 4x4 works awsome..the box is really bad and so are the front fenders and doors and rockers and cab corners..lol..so anyone that has rust free doors or fenders or a box and tailgate for sale decent price let me know.....this project has to take a diff route, the ford is getting put up if it dosent sell so this has to be my daily drive so it polly wont get a SAS at the moment just a body lift and torsion key and SOA for lift and a set of 33s
well then sas the ford while it's put up loll then do this next
im not a ford guy..i love that ford because its huge and sharp looking and verry clean but id preffer dodge or gm products...my plan is to trade the ford for a newer stock dodge or gm or trade for a harley or just sell and keep cash...im haveing some finacial issues at the moment so thts why the s-10 is gonna just be pretty well free work or cheap and the fords getting sold
well today i had to put a new battery terminal on it and when i got done with that she fired right up..it blew a big puff of black smoke and was running a little rough..i proceeded to move it and got about 100ft and she died she wont start back up..if i pour gas in the throttle body it will fire on tht it says theres an 8th of a tank but idk..im to fat to crawl under this thing in 6inches of snow..lol.im wondering if the injectors went bad or the fuel pump..any ideas or ways to easily check these
it wont let me upload pics.ive tried many diff ways and sizes but keeps sayin there to big it will say 800kb is the max then ill downsize them and it says 200kb is the max...wtf i dont know what to do..ive uploaded many of pics b4 and never had any problems..ive named it recycled for now but im open to names and colors
add gas. mine did that and the gauge said 1/4 tank. it was empty.
