Title: Ed 79 silverado
Post by: Blue on December 27, 2010, 04:48:51 AM

It gots its name from the original owner. i bought it off my cousin and said they named it ed cuz when they bought it from the lady her husband passed away and she was always saying how Ed (her husband) really liked the truck. i have had this truck for awhile now but havnt had money to upgrade it. Its a 79 chevy silverado 1/2 ton drivetrian 350 700r4 208. its gonna be my dd and a play toy at the same time. im not gonna go crazy with it just have some fun. i was planning on going 6 inch lift with some 35's. im building the motor up. performer intake, tv cam, headers, the basic upgrades. im not sure what carb to use but i got a Holly 600 laying around that just needs to be rebuilt. i am open to suggestions that you have for me. for anything motor, lift, tires, body, anything. give me some tips or tricks if ya got any. hopefully will have it running soon. trying to build it on a very limited salery GotMud?

I dont have any updates. like i said I have a VERY small budget for this. im still going to school and working on a min. wage salery lol. its gonna take awhile but will b worth it. Im saving some money up and gonna take the Motor over to B.Y. Engineering. I have heard nothin but Good from some good buddies like Rock, Chromey, and homewrecker john about Mark Strpko. i have not heard one bad thing about him. alot of locals take their engines to him. so thats the next step i will keep you all updated whenever i get somthing done but like i said, a very low budget and gonna be awhile i want this done right ;D

I havent heard anything bad about him. My good buddy Cody knows Mark because His aunt is dating him and i always hear from Cody's Dad that he has built some badass engines. Cant wait to meet him for myself

Alright i have an update. This weekend a guy is coming to pick up my old bed. now i can go get the new one and put it togther and put it on the truck. then in 3 weeks or so im getting some sweet 8 bolt rims so then i can put the 3/4 under it and get the 1/2's out. then move to suspension

My new bed! No bondo, and little rust and what is rust is just surface rust, no holes or anything using the sides and the black beds floor. these will be a lot easier to fix than my old ones.

i think that dent should come out pretty easy. no creases. i thought maybe seeing if he could get to it from the back side and push out?

i havnt tried anything. i didnt really wanna f it up more until i knew forsure. what one do you think would work better??? try a plunger or push it out from the inside?

the plunger you wouldnt have to take off any panels....problem with pushing from the inside is if you push to hard you might leave an outward dent.

Try a good plunger 1st....way easier and if id don't work yer out like 2 min.

sorry to say but Its forsale:( i need money fast. stock axles are back under it. does not have a bed. has no motor. comes with a 700r4 to a 208. tranny was just rebuilt by the last owner and we put it in. would consider parting out. body is nicer nut standard chevy rust in the cab corners not too bad. will part out if needed. anything you see on this post is also forsale make an offer. for just the truck, tranny, t-case, and stock axles $1000 obo.
