its a 1990 Chevy s10 extended cab has a 3inch body lift and a 7 inch suspension lift..... when i got the truck it still had the independent front end in it so my father and i tour that out and started to put in a solid axle called around every where for a conversion kit no one made one as they told me so we had to do the hole front end by hand first time for the both of us.... as the truck sits right now it still need the drive shafts put in the 44inch boggers put on and the linkage hooked up for the trans and t-case and then every thing welded...... i also want to diamond plate everything inside of the truck for an easy clean but that will be later down the road.... i have no name for the truck not sure what to call it i guess ill have to wait and see how it does in a hole to give it an name....
i have a question for you guy's what is a good way to run my radiator from the bed of my truck ?
what motor are you going to use to spin them 44 boggers?
I have pics in my project page with my line run to the box on my bogger. check it out!
its a hyped up 305 but i have a 350 in the works right now just going to play with the 305 till it blows or something
OK will do betterbeaters thanks
what gears are you running cause the 305 wont like 44 boggers
i got a set of axles for free form a buddy of mine i think they are Dana 70's but don't hold me to it so im not sure on what the gear ratio is to tell you the truth this weekend when i get to my truck i will take some pic of the axles and post them up here im not that good about that kinda stuff i just help put the truck together and fix it when it breaks not that great of a mechanic but im learning :)
what size hose did you use on your radiator from running it from back to front?
Us muffler pipe for the long straight runs and get some used radiator hoses for the bends. That's what I did and it worked good.
thank you for the info
I used 1.5 and 2" pipe for my lines and 2" was way to big still wish I had made it smaller!
i used 1.5 still was overkill

why, to much water, to heavy? or stays to cool?
i used rubber radiator hose works perfect
to much to push ended up putting in a deal to restrict it to get the water moving
here is an update on my project for you guy's as of right now i have the truck drivable steering is almost done 44s are on breaks are hooked up all i need to do is hook up 4x4 hook up the hydrological steering do a little bit more welding and hit the first hole ill get some pic up asap
all most done
WOOT WOOT! I like it! SHARP! ;D
the topper is coming off i don't like that but its a good storage for right now :)
I think it looks very nice! ;D
thanks
Looks good! And yeah, no topper....I understand the storage though
lol yup its coming off
well just a couple more things to do to it and she will be ready for the first bog of the new year prayy
truck looks awsome !! good work
i like it , looks good man
looking good
had to tare apart the front once again to move some things around got part of the steering done will post some pic asap
well she is pretty much done just waiting for the hoses for the steering thats it well my motor to but i have one in just going to fry that one befor i put the other on in ;D
Those sure don't look like boggers to me loll
no staying away from them till i get my bigger motor lol
looks good
looks good it will look better all covered in MUUUDDDDD
sweet!
i agree mudgrunt it will look a lot better covered in mud and thanks guy's it was our first conversion we did and turned out nice
hey guy's dose anyone have any pointers about the hydraulic steering we r having a bunch of problems with it we have it hooked up right but it wont bleed so we force feed the lines and it kinda works wont turn like it should so we try to bleed the lines again and it just stops turning i have pressure in the steering wheel but the wheels just aren't turning do you think the pump needs to be bigger or what ?
sometimes the oil will foam up with a new install let it sit for a day and try again, with tires off the ground turn slow lock to lock, keep the pump full. some times it will burp fluid out but keep it full,i leave the cap off and watch it while some ones turning the wheel, little messy but it works. do not crack any lines .it's not a closed system. good luck ==wgm
clean lookin truck applaudd applaudd applaudd applaudd applaudd applaudd applaudd applaudd applaudd applaudd applaudd applaudd applaudd
thanks for the info f250 ill try that
thanks big frank
LOOKIN GOOD ;D
all done hit first hole and she held up pretty good for our first hand made conversion
turned out really nice!
thanks prograde
looks good!
thats bad ass bro!
thanks prostock and guys
well took it out over the weekend everything held up well but the steering the axle that i have under it right now is on balls meaning it don't have u joints well the wheels like to go any and every way they like with the hydrological steering it don't work out well so im going to do another axle swap to it and make it a u joint axle i still want to keep the axle that is under it but i need to figure something out with it first if you have any pointers please let me know thanks
nice truck good work
==cl nice truck
whats up bud, you still intereseted in that axle?
i sure am
i'll be around friday before 4 o clock and sat i'm goin to the vandenboss bog in byron, b around after that..
does anyone know where to get uprights made at and about how much do they go for ?
dec headers, there not to expensive. look em up online. i got mine from there.. still hav that axle, do u seriously want it?
bad ass truck i would daily drive that thing off road direct and sky mfg both make s10 sas kits idk if they did when u were looking but they do now topp is also good when u put radiator in back keeps the bed clean etc etc.
yeah man i do im sorry haven't got with you yet

what axle ya got in there ??? ball and claw style
the axle is off an old military jeep
well doing a front axle swap this weekend i cant seem to keep the axle i have under their right now together something is always breaking so im going to put another one under their and work on figuring out whats going on with the other axle i think my hydro steering is to week cause my tires flop every witch way they want and i think that is the biggest prob im having with it right now all in time i guess
nice rig chevv
got the new axle in all i have to do is put the shocks on break lines and front drive shaft and im good to go for T-DAY ==rocks ==dj
well the truck did very well this year really didn't have any problems other then the front axle but that is changed out now i cant say that the truck is all the way done cause its not the motor is not complete yet i have a 350 .30 over in the works putting traction bars on might have to drop the t case to re seal that some things to work out but in all it did very well im very happy with it...
electrical conduit is less expensive than exhaust pipe, i usually run smaller the better such as one and half inch, conduit is bendable to a certain degree then it is easy enough to use parts of radiator hoses for bends etc., top of radiator almost needs to be same height as engine block or jegs has in-line radiator cap with over-flow,
the electrical conduit take that much pressure and heat?
yes it will ,, home depot , ten foot lengths are very inexpensive,,
thanks bud
Ok i got the new motor for 2012 its a 350 that is 0.30 over with flat top 0.30 over forged aluminum pistons going to take a lot of moving and cutting but it will be all worth it in the end i got the uprights not sure if i want to put holes in the hood that is on now tho i might get another hood not sure on that part yet........ Having my brother build me a set of traction bars for front n back.........
Cool truck.. Good Progress.. GotMud?
got the new motor in finally got the uprights all i have to do now is the wiring i went form a fuel injected to carb so have to figure the wiring out now also the steering arm with the uprights on its in the way of the steering arm so i have to figure something out with that if you guys have any pointers let me know please thanks
Looks good!!
hte steering can be made super easy with hydrolic steering or your steering may be able to use small universal steering joints and bars like from a van
thanks dogred ill look into that
We just cut the header and extended the pipe to go around the shaft
Nice build keep up the hard work
git her done , lets go muddin , sounds like you are gettin it close ....
i really dont want to be cutting on it if i dont have to but i will keep that in mind thanks justin
got the truck running started to put it back together hoping to have it done in time for a couple bogs this year we will have to wait and see
update
got everything back together went to a bog and broke the drive train.... the back of tranny striped out the t-case split in two second time for that and rear drive shaft broke hmmmmmm think i have some reinforcing to do not sure yet
