ok so my dad has a 2003 chevy that has the 5.3L in it and it had the fuel pump and fuel filter changed out and new fuel lines put in. every once in a while it will try to start but never fire. if u wait 8 minutes it will finally start. sounds lik eit could be electrical but no clue what it could be. any help would be very helpful. thank you
During this problem can you hear the fuel pump when you turn it on?
yes always
could it maybe have something to do with the computer?
When it does it is it at a certain time. Like when you first start it or after a long drive? Was the fuel line replaced front to rear? If so is it possible some of the wiring got knocked loose?
it happens after short and long drives just randomly and it was just a section of the line.
i know its lot of work but maybe a bad pump presure test it when it wont start get some gas in a squirt bottle see if it starts from that. is it loosing prime kind of thing or vapor locking
we had it pressure tested and thats all good. and the pump turns on everytime so not sure about loosing prime or vapor locking
it started using starting fluid in the intake so maybe vapor lock could be possible. if it is vapor lock how do u get rid of that on fuel injection????
change the gas cap 6$ and i think there was a line that goes from fill tube to tank with a check valve thing some body may recall this after reading it i think you can smash it to break it loose i think it was exspenvie. call auto zone and see what they say about it thers a few mach on the post lets see what they say befor you smash anything forsure.
oh alright well ill give that a try and if anyone has anything else in mind the help would be greatly appreciated. thanks big dog
