can anyone tell me about this number off the block of a 350 3970010
2 bolt or 4 bolt mains more common. 1969-1979 350 or 302 Chevy
how do i know if it s 4 bolt? and i wanna avoid 305's how i know if its 350 or 305?
350 had a bigger diamator ballancer 305 has a thicker and smaller diamater ballanser and the 400 has the noch in the ballancer

its a 350 block i believe, the 010 blocks had more nickel? higher nickel content means stronger...

says high nickel and tin. gotta pull the pan to tell if its 2 or 4 bolt main.
i picked this motor up for $125 it s from a 78 full size van i plan on checking into it later

the book i have says that # block was used in69 vette 350 camaro 302 69 to 79 truck passanger car 70 71 corvette 2 and 4 bolt main the head casting #s tell ya more im quote in cars and parts catalogof chevy v 8 engine casting numbers
the partial vin will tell you exactly what year and what it came out of it's the suffix code on the block in the front it would be right infront of the passenger head

if it came out of a 78 chevy van, id bet its a 350... but, ya never know if it was a stock motor...
