Title: One of those projects!
Post by: ABlockhd on February 15, 2011, 03:29:29 AM
I spent the better share of last saturday putting a tach in the buick.  I was thinking to myself this is rediculous.  But by the time you have to put a pin in the wiring harness connector for the cpu, remove almost the entire dash to pull up the dash pad to tighten the mounting bolts and run the power wires the day is gone.  I figured i'd have it done by lunch.  Anybody else have this kind of luck lately, doing a quick little job that takes all day?     pullhairr

if i work on anything electrical, it always takes 3x longer than i expected.
last spring, thought i had to replace the distributor in my red truck cuz the housing was broke.... ended up finding out a couple cam lobes were wiped off.

yes, lots of projects like that.  you forgot to mention all projects, no matter how big or small require AT LEAST 2 trips to a parts/hardware/home improvement/any other applicable store.

Thats the same idea that came to me also lol.  "Oh yeah this job will take me 2 hours no problem.........4 hours later, over half a tank of gas gone, every swear word a man knows, and 2 broken fingers later and your only half way done!
