Title: fuel pump?

I m working in this it a tbi motor chevy truck  it will turn over easily but wouldnt fire immediately i had to pump the gas.pedal like a carb. And try to start it up  once it start up i have to keep press the gas pedal just enough to keep it running otherwise it ll die was thinking fuel pump is ready to go?

Check the codes first before you buy anything.. It does sound like a fuel pump, can you spray somethin in the throttle body and see if it runs better? Be careful, dont try it if its backfiring or anything like that..  ;D

Check fuel filter first...those pumps run at such a low psi it most likely to run right or not run at all if there is a problem with the pump. From what you describe though my first suspicion would be IAC valve.
