Title: 91 GMC IFS Question
Post by: old school truck dude on February 23, 2011, 02:49:38 AM
Does anyone sell a locking hub for the front of these trucks? The axles are turning with the wheels all the time, arent they? Do the later models have automatic locking hubs that would maybe fit or is this a pipe dream...???

That controls the differential. Im wondering how to stop the axles from spinning all the time. Wears them out for nothing because theyre just freewheeling, and if I can stop them from spinning with the wheels, I can lock up the front differential permanently  ;D

nope, they spin all the time...  CV shaft helps hold the wheel bearing togather too... thats why its like 100ft/lb torque...
