Post by: GregYAMAHA on March 03, 2011, 12:53:58 AM
ok i have a 99 dodge intrepid witha 2.7 DOHC v6 that i need to put some head gaskets on. so i figure while i got it apart what can i do to it to create alil more horsepower? i dont have much money but any info would be great.

Also i thought about putting a 3.5L HO v6 out of a 2002. but from what i hear it wont work.... what would need to be done to make this work?

Save your money! These 2.7l engines have terrible track records with timing component failures. They are an interference eng. so one wrong move can be very costly. If your doing head gaskets be sure to replace your timing chain tensioners and guides, youll be glad you did. Best of luck.
