Was just wondering what aftermarket shifter's everyone uses in there boggers?? I had a B and M Mega sfifter and hated it!!! It was great for banging thru the gears going forward, but a pain in the butt to find reverse if in a hurry at all. I am using the stock column shifter now but with the body lift it does'nt like to go all the way in park, kind of a saftey issue. So mite be looking into another floor shifter and just wondered what works for everyone. 86 S-10 Blazer, 700r4 trans, stock frame w bout 4 inch body lift ==wgm
i like b&m quicksliver. but i take apart cut it so i can pick up on leaver in natural then you can shift between r&1st
you should be able to adjust the linkage? but, a shifter that gets overlooked, and i actually havent seen in a while, is the old hurst floor shifter. its not a ratchet shifter, its just a conversion from column to floor shift, and it uses a rod instead of a cable. i have one in my fig 8 car, and it has a detent only for park so you can go from 1st to reverse real fast. or get a junkyard camaro or monte floor shifter if you want a cable type without a reverse problem. i also have a quicksilver, those are nice
I run an art carr love it no binding cable is huge its a gated type shifter
Hurst quarter stick......easy to find gears, can go up and down no problem.....plus has a neutral saftey switch built in. ==np
I.run the b&m shifter in mine, yes its not a fast reverse friendly.shifter but will save the tranny from getting messed up from grinding gears in my opinion... getting stuck is alot better than blowing a tranny... cheaper too.
B&M star shifter, and i love it, no more missed gears or bouncing outa gears cuz of the column shifter
I am runnin an art carr gate shifter.... no levers to pull or flip to go into park or reverse.
i run a b and m pro stick and love it
Megashifter B&M
B&M Pro Ratchet, in the truck & a Turbo Action Cheetah in my car, both are very good shifters.
Thanks guys, gives me a direction anyways.
